Israeli Pharmacologist Moussa Youdim Visits Jiangsu
From May 16 to May 20, Prof. Moussa Youdim of Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) visited Jiangsu with the accompanying of Mr. Chen Yonglong, former Chinese Ambassador to Israel. In Jiangsu, Prof. Youdim visited Nanjing University, China Medical City in Taizhou and Nanjing Decon Bio-technology Co. Ltd. for academic exchanges and potential cooperation.
As a co-founder of Technion Medical School, Prof. Youdim specializes in the research and development of neural and cardio-vascular drugs. He has successfully developed a series of compounds that over 50 pharmaceutical companies are interested in. Rasagiline, a drug developed by Prof. Youdim and manufactured by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. of Iarael has also obtained the approval of US Food and Drug Administration in May 2006. Prof. Youdim has published over 850 papers, of which over 200 are frequently quoted. Now Prof. Youdim is tutoring a number of doctoral and post doctoral students.
